Best Parks in UAE: Give your kid a piece of Mother Nature

Thanks to the Industrial Revolution, Parks took on a new synonym to preserve the sense of nature in cities and towns rather being a hunting game preserves or aristocracy. Parks and gardens in UAE maybe alien words decades ago but presently many parks have sprouted just like oases in the desert, which also has plenty of activities to keep residents from all corners refreshed. There are numerous lush parks perfect for family outings and give your kids a piece of nature. So, welcome to green Dubai and here is a list of beautiful parks everyone should visit.

1. AL KHAZZAN PARK

Built in late 1980’s, this park was renovated a couple of years ago being the first of its kind to be completely solar-energy functional or ecologically speaking ‘zero-energy’. Though, the 40-m high traditional water tower which is also a landmark view around the place survived the makeover. It is a small shady park, overlooking a children’s playground and it is quite a place you can spend quality time with your kids.

2. DUBAI CREEK PARK

Spread across 96 acres in the center of old Dubai, this is one of the oldest parks in Dubai. And more to the novelty, because it is at the edge of creek, you can reach there by boat. This park is all about fun-filled activities. Enjoy the greenery or admire the skyline by wandering around. You can rent bikes or stroll around the park on a small train. Moreover, you can spark up the grills too. If that’s not enough, the park also has Dolphinarium and Children’s city (children aged 2 to 15). This park also has cute cafes, simulation theatres and planetarium to keep our little ones occupied with more fun.

3. ZABEEL PARK

Located in-between Karama and Zabeel area, this park is one of the biggest parks and is spread over two sections connected by pedestrian bridges. It gets busy during weekends and especially in milder weather condition. The kids love the StarGate entertainment zone and the adventure playgrounds of the area. This park is popular for fitness fans and it also boasts a cute train for visitors. This park has facilities like Barbecue/covered cooking areas, toilets, bicycle track, jogging track, lake with boat hire, water fountains, children’s edutainment center and play zone, cricket pitch, plus a huge car park.

4. MAMZAR BEACH PARK

If you are a beach lover, then this will sure blow you away. This park is a vibrant place to hang out to have your quality time with your family. This park is usually crowded in weekends. Kids can have best time here and there is a lot in this park to keep oneself occupied. Grilling is the best part here and you can enjoy wandering around shores and swimming is also allowed here. This park is filled with small cafeterias. Cycles can be rented out to enjoy strolling around the park.

5. AL BARSHA POND PARK

One of Dubai’s newest parks and part of Dubai Pond Parks project, the Al Barsha Pond Park is extremely popular among the city’s residents, especially because of its giant ponds that have walking and running tracks around them; perfect for exercising. The park is also suitable for cycling enthusiasts and offers a number of playgrounds for kids, tennis courts, football pitches and fitness machines. You can even spot rabbits, ducks and birds naturally roaming here and there. It is huge with 1.2 km of jogging track. Cycles are also available on rent.
