The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has announced the academic calendar for the year starting from September 2018 to April 2019.

The complete table of working days including holidays and vacation periods has been published on the KHDA website.

KHDA has made it mandatory for all private schools in the UAE to communicate Public holidays as as Eid and National holidays and other similar holidays to parents and confirm the holidays to the parents once declared by the UAE government.

Start of academic year Monday, April 02, 2018
Summer break begins Sunday, July 01, 2018
Return from summer break Sunday, September 02, 2018
Winter break begins Sunday, December 16, 2018
Return from winter break (three weeks) Sunday, January 06, 2019
End of academic year (based on KHDA instructions and approvals) Between March 14-21, 2019
New academic year begins Monday, April 01, 2019

KHDA is the educational quality assurance and regulatory authority of the Government of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It oversees the private education sector in Dubai, including early childhood education centres, schools, higher education providers, and training institutes.

KHDA was established by decree in 2006, under the directive of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum (Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and the Ruler of Dubai), with the aim of developing the education and human resource sectors in the Dubai emirate to the level of international standards and best practice.
