Importance of Sports to Kids – Introduce your kids to sports first than broccoli
Commencing with one of the most inspirational quotes by Richard Attias, ‘Sport is one of the few spaces where people can learn about the culture in a spirit of trust and friendship.’ And thus my strongest recommendation to parents of the modern era to inspire our kids to practice any sports activities right from their early ages. Sports involves 5 major ‘S-characteristics’ which are Stamina, Speed, Strength, Skill and finally the greatest of all Spirit. Many parents believe that sports also play a vital role in a child’s academics and they do agree that practicing sports has abundance benefits in achieving better physical, social and emotional skills of the child.
Physical Fitness:
As per the general health survey, only 6 out of 10 children indulge in sports outside of school and of which 70% are boys. Sports activities reduce the risk of Obesity which is now one of the major risk children go through at present days. Because of the active use of your child’s body, your kid tends to have healthier bones, muscles, ligaments, and tendons which results in improved coordination and balance. Kids participating in sports have increased cardiovascular fitness and will have a greater ability to physically relax and therefore, avoid the complications of chronic muscular tension such as back-ache or joint-pain.
Building Confidence and Developing Self-Esteem:
It is obviously evidential that kids involving in sports activities have better confidence and also it can help in the development of your child’s self-esteem. Being a part of a team teaches them life lessons such as developing their social skills which benefits them even when they grow old. Playing sports mentors your child about teamwork and cooperating with others. Sports acts as a platform to realize a sense of belonging and gives them an opportunity to make friends which also improves their communication skills. Also, sport teaches a kid to accept defeat and take that as a constructive criticism and work on their weakness for better.
Encourage your kids to play sports and ask them if they enjoyed it or not rather than asking if they won or not.
Dear parents, introduce your kids to sports first than broccoli even if they think they are not interested. Have an ideal faith that it could end up empowering them and keeping them active and healthy for life. And cultivate deep in your minds that children with active and healthy habit grow as active and responsible adults.
